Fri. Sept. 7 - Old Media, New Media and Participatory Culture

- Introduce A Tale of Two Media project
- Start work in the lab on A Tale of Two Media project
- View some example slides
- The project template can be selected into your Google Docs account.
- You can use your school web mail account to set up a Google Docs account. Your school email is: first initial last name@skss.sd73.bc.ca

Thurs. Sept. 6 - Old Media, New Media and Participatory Culture 

- Review the English 10 paragraph assignments
- 45 minutes to complete two paragraphs. Use your writing code, not your name. Hand in two paragraphs this class.
- Review the Tale of Two Media Project. You will have 4 to 5 classes to plan and complete this project ( 47 marks ). You will have lab time to work on this.

Wed. Sept. 5 - Old Media, New Media and Participatory Culture 

- 25 min. of silent reading
- Review summer bingo stories
- Understand the distinctions between old media and new media.
- Create a comparative mind map diagram representing types of old and new media that you consume and produce.
-Write two paragraphs:
---Compare/contrast "old" and "new" media types (formal style)
---Discuss examples of "old" and "new" media that you prefer (informal style)
---OR discuss a few of the interesting summer experiences you and/or others in this class enjoyed.
